Lesson Dino

Terms of use

The rules for using Lesson Dino during the beta, in plain English.

The short version

  • Lesson Dino is in beta. It's free, it's still changing, and things may sometimes go wrong.
  • What Lesson Dino makes for you is yours to use in your teaching.
  • AI can be wrong. Check everything before you teach it.
  • Don't type pupils' personal details, and don't misuse the service.

Who we are

Lesson Dino is run from Malta. You can reach us at [email protected].

These terms are an agreement between you and Lesson Dino. They cover the website lessondino.com and the app at app.lessondino.com. By using Lesson Dino you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use Lesson Dino. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

The beta

  • Lesson Dino is in beta. You need an invite to use the app.
  • It's free during the beta. Nothing you do during the beta will be charged, and we won't start charging you without telling you first and asking you to agree. Our prices will be published on the pricing page.
  • Features may change, be added or be removed. Lesson Dino may sometimes be slow or unavailable, and we may end the beta.
  • Keep your own copies. Download anything important as PowerPoint, Word or PDF. We work hard to keep your lessons safe, but during the beta we can't promise that nothing will ever be lost.

Your account

  • Lesson Dino is for teachers and other education professionals aged 18 or over.
  • Keep your login details private. Each account is for one person.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why.

What you put in

  • What you type and upload, such as topics, notes and your school's PowerPoint templates, stays yours.
  • You give us permission to store and use it only to run Lesson Dino for you. This includes sending it to the services listed in our privacy policy, such as the AI service.
  • Only upload material you have the right to use. For example, upload your school's template only if your school lets you.

What Lesson Dino makes for you

  • You may use, change, print and share the lesson plans, slides and worksheets Lesson Dino makes for you, for your teaching. That includes sharing them with colleagues and pupils. We don't claim to own them.
  • Some parts come from others and keep their own licences: photos and diagrams (credited on each slide), picture symbols, videos on YouTube and some slide designs. Keep the credits when you share. ARASAAC symbols, for example, may not be used commercially.
  • If you want to sell a resource, for example on a teaching marketplace, check the licence of every picture and symbol in it first.
  • AI can give similar answers to different people, so other teachers may get material like yours.

Check before you teach

AI can make mistakes. It can get facts or answers wrong, use out-of-date information or pitch something at the wrong level. Lesson Dino lists its sources and checks maths answers, but this doesn't catch everything.

Before you use anything Lesson Dino makes, you are responsible for checking that it is:

  • accurate
  • right for the age and needs of your pupils
  • safe, especially practical activities and experiments
  • in line with your school's policies and curriculum.

Lesson Dino helps you plan. It doesn't replace your professional judgement.

Using Lesson Dino fairly

Please don't:

  • type pupils' personal details, or anyone's sensitive information
  • use Lesson Dino to make anything illegal, hateful or harmful, or anything that breaks other people's rights
  • try to break, overload or copy Lesson Dino, read its data automatically, or get round its limits
  • share your account, or sell access to it
  • use Lesson Dino to build a competing service.

Our responsibility

  • Lesson Dino is a free beta. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will always work or always be right.
  • As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for: lost lessons or data, indirect losses, losses caused by using content without checking it, or problems caused by other services, such as YouTube or picture libraries.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

Ending

  • You can stop using Lesson Dino at any time. To have your account and lessons deleted, email [email protected].
  • We may end your access, or end the beta. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you in advance, so you have time to download your lessons.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Lesson Dino after a change, the new terms apply.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta can settle any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protection of your own country's laws, and you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
