The short answer
- Choose Diffit if your main need is differentiation: the same content at different reading levels, with scaffolds, for the different groups in your class.
- Choose Lesson Dino if you want a whole lesson from one topic: ideas, a timed plan, video clips, slides and a printable worksheet with an answer sheet, all from numbered sources.
What Diffit is
Diffit says it makes "quality, print-ready resources for any instructional need". It's known for differentiation: it adapts a text or topic to different reading levels and languages, with scaffolds and challenge. It can make activities, slides, station rotations, sub plans and intervention materials, and export them to Google Docs, Slides, Forms and Classroom, and Microsoft 365.
Students don't log in; Diffit says it collects no student data. There's a free Basic plan with limits, plans for schools and districts, and individual teacher licences.
What Diffit does well
- Differentiation. The same content at different levels, quickly, with scaffolds and challenge.
- Print-ready. Resources are laid out to print or download as PDF.
- Exports. Send resources to Google or Microsoft tools.
- Student privacy. No student logins, and it says it collects no student data.
What Lesson Dino does differently
Diffit is at its best adapting content for different learners. Lesson Dino is at its best building a whole lesson from a topic.
- The whole lesson. Nine lesson ideas, a timed lesson plan, video clips, slides and a worksheet, all from the same topic and facts, so they match.
- Sources first. It looks the topic up before it writes, including your country's curriculum documents where it can find them, and numbers every source.
- More than 100 kinds of task. From diamond nines and concept cartoons to exam command words, with an answer sheet. For maths, it draws diagrams from the numbers and checks the answers with code.
- Videos with timings. The best YouTube clips for the topic, and the exact part of each one to play.
- Slides your way. 80 designs or your school's own PowerPoint template, with real photos and diagrams and their credits.
