Supply teaching means walking into a different classroom every day, often with a subject or year group you didn't expect. Usually there's work set. When there isn't, or when you're asked to plan the lesson yourself, Lesson Dino gives you a whole lesson in minutes.
A whole lesson, fast
Type the subject, the year group and the topic. Lesson Dino looks the topic up and gives you:
- a lesson plan with timings for each part, from the starter to the exit ticket
- slides with pictures and speaker notes, so you know what to say even outside your own subject
- a printable A4 worksheet with tasks at the right level and an answer sheet
- video clips, with the exact part of each one to play
- lesson ideas, if you want to choose a different way in.
Teach a subject that isn't yours
Speaker notes tell you what to say on each slide. The key words box explains the subject terms. Numbered sources let you check a fact in seconds. And the answer sheet means you can go through the worksheet with confidence.
Present from any computer
Present the slides straight from Lesson Dino in a web browser, or download them as PowerPoint. Download the worksheet as a PDF to print, and the plan as Word or PDF. Every lesson is saved, so a lesson you made for one school is ready for the next.
Any age, any country's year groups
Lesson Dino covers every age from early years to sixth form. It understands how different countries name year groups, such as Year 5, Grade 4, Form 2 or KS2, and uses your country's spelling, money and units.
What to check before you teach
Ask the school whether you may use your own lesson. Follow the school's behaviour and safety policies, and check facts and activities before you teach them. For ready-to-use ideas to fill the first and last five minutes, see our lesson starter ideas and exit ticket ideas.
Questions teachers ask
Can I use my own lesson when I'm covering?
Always check with the school first. Most schools want you to use the work the class teacher set. Lesson Dino is most useful when no work has been set, or when you're asked to plan the lesson yourself.
Does it work for any subject?
Yes. You type the subject, year group and topic, so it works for any subject from early years to sixth form.
Can I present the slides without a USB stick?
Yes. Present them straight from Lesson Dino in a web browser, or download PowerPoint.
Is it free?
Yes, while Lesson Dino is in beta. Join the beta with your email address and we will send you an invite.
